Another idea given to me by =Scootawho (He is my creative side.)

He sent me this idea for a pun, and I facehoof'd so hard that I just HAD to draw it. So here it is, a "ship in a bottle."

Extraordinary.

The creative vision behind this image is unparalleled. Not only is the design itself ingenious, but the concept behind the image is also rather outstanding. It is a tasteful ship: look at Rainbow Dash's cuddly-wuddly little expression as Twilight playfully licks her face. There are worse things than being sealed in a bottle with Twilight Sparkle. In terms of impact, this image has the power to change people's perception of art and cute ponies.

When Rainbow Dash entered the Bottle of Dreams, she had no idea that she would become trapped in there. It should be noted that we, as the receptive audience, are unsure in this image if the bottle is enormous or if the ponies have been reduced to a minimal size. I would prefer to view it as the ponies being bite-size; it helps compound the image of them as cute and the sort of little critters you could pick up and put in your pocket. Rainbow Dash probably made many attempts to escape the bottle, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Trying desperately to escape, Twilight noticed her and showed great concern.

"What in Equestria happened to you, Rainbow Dash?" Twilight Sparkle would have asked, but Rainbow, not wishing to show weakness, pretended that she had sealed herself in there deliberately. Having little else to do that day - she was ahead on her studies - Twilight decided to join her in the bottle. They hung out for a bit until Twilight needed to leave and resume her tasks for the day. Sadly, she soon realised that even with her magic she couldn't get them out.

Deciding to wait it out, hoping that another pony might discover them, they slept in the bottle that night. Twilight had a dream, however, where she was in an ice cream factory, and in her sleep she rolled over and apparently envisioned Rainbow as a tasty treat. This explains why she is licking her cheek. Rainbow was having her own dream where she was given a small puppy by Applejack; she merely figured that Twilight licking her was the puppy. That'll be an interesting conversation when they both wake up!

From another perspective, I see this image as being a contemporary criticism of left-wing politics. Notice that Rainbow is facing towards the right; she is clearly conservative in her viewpoints. The fact that the open end of the bottle is also to the right of the image suggests that the right is the way forward, whilst going left (liberal) will lead us to a dead end. The 'ship' of the 'Ship in a Bottle' is a deliberate allusion to the revolutionary film, "Battleship Potemkin", suggesting that if we believe in a more reserved, traditionalist viewpoint we will be able to make great things happen that will otherwise be hampered by liberalism.

Alternatively, the image is a reverence of the female community, empowering two of the strongest-willed characters in the show. By breaking through the literal 'glass roof' of the bottle, they will be able to reach the light above and gain independence. This seems to be fiercely evocative of 1940s women's suffrage, creative a resonating social cadence with the audience. Simultaneously, the image seeks to glorify and endear the Brony community, suggesting that Bronies are all trapped inside their own glass bottles until they openly announce their Bronyhood, and that by breaking out into the open the glass barriers are lifted.

On a broader scale, the image is a reflection - literally from the glass - of society and humanity in general, and that we are kept in constraining, mainstream bubbles that alienate us from freedom of thought. But the opening of the bottle is of grave importance here: the implication is that we could escape from the confides of our institutionalised restrictions, should we be motivated and driven to do so.

Ultimately, the image is a fantastic slice of self-perception; an observance of the Brony community that sourced it, but also containing tinges of Feminism and progressive Politics. By directly alluding to a Liberal issue - the shipping of characters of the same gender - it instantly becomes a potent metaphor for accepting others, regardless of orientation.
